Never had a mobile braiding appointment before? No problem. Here's a complete guide to what happens before, during, and after your first session with AdorableLook - so you arrive prepared and leave with exactly the result you wanted.
Before Your Appointment - Hair Prep
This is the most important part. Please arrive with your hair:
Freshly washed (within 24–48 hours before your appointment)
Fully detangled - no knots, no matting
Blow-dried or stretched out
Avoid heavy oils, butters, or styling products on the day - these can make it harder for extensions to grip and can affect the finish of your style. If you have any questions about how to prep your specific hair type, message us beforehand and we'll guide you.
What To Have Ready At Home
You don't need to prepare anything special. Just have a comfortable chair or space to sit - the kitchen, living room, or bedroom all work perfectly. If it's a long appointment (box braids or faux locs, for example), you might want to have snacks, water, and your TV remote to hand. Some clients work from home during their appointment - that works too.
When Your Stylist Arrives
Nikki will arrive at the agreed time. She'll bring everything she needs for the service. The appointment starts with a short consultation - she'll confirm the style, check your hair, and make sure you're both aligned before starting. This is your chance to show reference photos and ask any final questions.
During The Appointment
Sit back and relax. The session runs as long as it needs to - we'll have given you an estimated duration at booking. You're free to watch TV, work, take calls, or just rest. We only ask that you stay as still as possible while we work for the cleanest finish.
At The End
Before we pack up, Nikki will walk you through your aftercare routine - how to sleep with your style, how to keep your scalp healthy, how to wash your braids, and when to think about rebooking. Ask us anything at this point - we'd rather you leave fully informed than call us later with a question.
